These updates are only bug and security fixes, and I recommend everyone install any updates available on that screen. Ignore the offer to upgrade to the new system software and look a little lower to the section that says “Another update is available” or “More updates are available” and click “More info” below that. To get updates for older system software without upgrading to the latest version (macOS Monterey as of the end of 2021), go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update. Though if you are running older software versions you might only notice the offer to upgrade to the current software. As with any upgrade, make sure your computer is backed up and your apps are all compatible before you upgrade.īut until you are ready to make the jump, Apple has not stopped releasing security and bug fix updates for some older software. iCloud sync keeps your database up-to-date on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Organize with tags, add notes, assign a star rating, and more. Add videos via the Share Menu, dragging and dropping them into the app or importing them from a playlist. It’s an exciting new update and I’ve heard of many fewer issues than in years past, but I do urge people to wait for a few months before they jump in.
